About Women waste Recycler Of Bhutan The Green Bhutan Waste Management and Women Recycling in Bhutan is a Community-Based Organization (CBO), with a primary focus on waste management and women's empowerment at the bottom of social pyramid. We believe in building community with cleaner, greener, sustainable, and women become economically self-sufficient, environmentally conscious, and empowered members of their communities. We are based in central part of Bhutan in Trongsa and Bumthang. The organization was founded by Chogyal Lhamo, a pioneering female entrepreneur from Trongsa. She is recognized for her remarkable efforts in waste management and women's empowerment and was awarded the prestigious SARRC Women Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2018. As a mother of three, she started her journey as a scrap dealer in 2008 and has since become a prominent waste and social entrepreneur in Bhutan.
